Amor Y Problemas was originally performed at Casa Tres Patios in Medellin, Colombia in April 2009. During the performance, I lie naked on a plain wooden table, surrounded by small bottles of white glue. Viewers are invited to pour glue over my naked body while I remain passive and still. After my entire body has been covered, including genitals, eyelids, armpits, toes, earlobes, etc--I am left to dry. When the gallery goers have decided that I have completed drying, they commence the process of peeling off the glue. The glue has formed a tight, second skin and is difficult and painful to remove. Still, I remain passive and silent as they collectively remove the strips of adhesive. Amor Y Problemas translates to 'love and trouble.' This work was later performed in New York as part of Exit Art's Performance in Crisis Series.
